Kade had left the tribe, Ojei'ah, late in the afternoon of yesterday, yet he wasn't surprised to find himself already crossing the invisible border that seperated Wyldehyll from Baorel. Even though no border really existed, he could 'feel' the difference...everything felt alive and happy in Baorel, yet here, in this new kingdom, the feeling of happiness was gone and replaced by a misery outlook.
Underneath him, the steed he rode, Be'ahr, snorted and stopped, eyeing the new surroundings with unease at the sudden loss of friendly land.
"Aihn," Kade said to the animal, "I feel it too, my friend. We will have to be careful where we tread in this land."
Kade had been gone not but eight days, but already he missed his home and his brother terribly... He would have gone back, and returned, if he hadn't been loyal to the Queen. He had a job to do, and he would do it.
He pulled the black travelers cloak from the saddlebags and pulled it on, not wanting to risk anyone seeing him just yet and figuring out that he was an elf until he knew whether or not his kind were accepted. He thought not, but he wasn't for sure.
Pulling the hood over his head, he nudged the black horse back into a fast walk. The woods ahead of him, he saw, weren't a thing like any woods or forest in Baorel...these woods were silent and barren, while the woods of Baorel were calm and peaceful, yet rang with a silent joy...
"Depressing..."
Beneath him, Be'ahr snorted as if in agreement.
